I just recently bought a laptop with Vista on it. I have the product key on
the bottom of my laptop, but everytime I go to word or any other office
program it says invalid key. I have tried to contact the place where I bought
it and they said that it should work, and if it doesn't I need to contact
Microsoft, which I have done and they said that there isn't anything they can
do for me without purchasing a new version of office, even though i purchased
it when i bought the laptop. Is there any other way I can get a product key
from microsoft or some other forum?

RE: Product key

Hi,

The product key on the bottom is generally for your operating system. You
have better look at docements that come with your laptop for a serial of
Office.

RE: Product key

When they installed the Office on your computer, it probably was running with
a product key for a temporary license. It sounds like the temporary license
has expired. If it's an older version of office, you might try entering all
1's or all 2's for the product key. Just an idea. You probably need to pay
for a proper license and get a legitimate product key. Maybe try www.cdw.com
to order a license. Their pre sales tech support is pretty good.
