Topic: Ratio of Clients to Servers
I have approximately 300 client computers with two domain controllers. One
of this domain controller’s acts a print server, the other as DHCP. We have
one VLAN, multiple switching locations, some fiber backbone, one file server,
over one thousand users, and a program called Deepfreeze on the client
computers (this resets the computer every time you turn the clients off).
I've had users complaining about performance issues. I have recommend at
least one more domain controller with DNS, segmenting the network with 3
VLANS (for three different domain controllers), and bandwidth throttling.
Does anyone have a static’s for client server ratios?
My employer will not respect my opinion enough, and will not provide network
monitoring tools.

And you are working there because...
The network monitor supplied with Server 2003 is actually not that bad.
'Netcap' (from the support tools) also can be useful.
